AFAS not authorised

“You are not authorised.”

The issue that causes the most frustration among AFAS users. Especially when you have to track down how this message occurs. Why are you not authorised in AFAS?

In this article, I will explain quickly and easily how to solve this problem!

Because AFAS has created wonderful opportunities to gain insight into your authorisation.

1. Insight into authorisation per user (for InSite))

The most common issue is an unauthorised notification for a page on InSite. Previously, I would thoroughly investigate the authorisation for this user. Until two colleagues mentioned to me last week that there is another way! This demonstrates how you discover new possibilities every week. This is how we, AFAS mentors, learn from each other every day and keep each other up to date.

Profit apparently has a standard feature that allows you to get this overview immediately.
To do this, go to Profit and select General / Management / Authorisation insight / Page authorisation InSite. You select the user and then you get a complete overview of all pages.

2. Complete overview of all authorisations

After the previous option, I can hear you thinking: “But this doesn't work for all authorisations...”

That's right!

Fortunately, AFAS also has an overview where you can easily see all authorisations at a glance:

Dashboard Authorisation.

All you need to do is:

1. Publishing the dashboard
2. Learning to use the dashboard (in other words: learning a new habit)

These two options are new to me (as well).
I am used to going through the entire authorisation process myself.
I understand that you need to get used to this new way of working.
